Creating safe, educational and professional spaces.

At the tender age of 3, on Christmas Eve, my first dance “performance” was on top of the dinner table between Mom’s fine china. After my ovation (for not breaking the dishes), my parents enrolled me in dance lessons. Since that day, my love of movement art has flourished.

I studied formally for 20 years in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap. My passion carried me through high school and college, where I began to gravitate toward teaching.

In 2019, I was introduced to Intimacy Direction through Tonia Sina, one of the original founders of Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (formerly Intimacy Directors Initiative), and I fell in love with the art of storytelling all over again. There is a way to create beautiful movement pieces while maintaining safety and healthy boundaries.

Intimacy Direction is about more than choreography; it’s about fostering an environment where performers feel supported and empowered to tell authentic stories. Clear communication, respect, and trust are essential in creating art that honors the humanity of everyone involved. These principles allow us to navigate vulnerability with care while maintaining the integrity of the narrative.

You don’t have to be a “dancer” to dance. If you can express emotion or a story through movement: YOU. CAN. DANCE. Whether you’re formally trained or dancing between the Christmas dishes, you’re already there. My goal isn’t to create perfect dancers, but to explore movement and storytelling using the gifts we already possess, in a safe and professional way.

Now, shall we dance?
